King Arthur's Disasters
King Arthur's Disasters is a British animated series which first aired on CITV, a now defunct programming block on ITV1. The series was Co-Created by Paul Parkes and Will Ashurst, the series follows and depicts attempts by King Arthur, assisted by the wizard Merlin, to woo the beautiful self-obsessed Princess Guinevere. Due to the popularity of the show, it was picked up for a second series which began transmission on CITV from 6 November 2005. Both were Executive Produced by Genevieve Dexter King Arthur's Disasters was the highest rated new CITV show during Spring 2005. It regularly achieved an audience share of over 20% of kids and it regularly won its time slot against CBBC. In 2006 the show was nominated for a children's BAFTA for Best Animation, however lost to The Amazing Adrenalini Brothers.

- 1. Splinters In The KnightThe ears of the people of Camelot are at the mercy of Princess Guinevere's terrible drumming. King Arthur visits her and offers to buy her lessons, however she's not convinced she needs any. Knowing he'd do literally anything for her she manages to turn it around and Arthur gets tricked, or duped as he prefers to call it, into getting her a Branch from the Singing Oak Tree. In the meantime Merlin is at war with a couple of squirrels, leaving Arthur to accomplish this quest on his own. It's not easy though, as the Oak Tree is being protected by Robin Hood and his merry men and women, who are having problems of their own.7CC30minApr 11, 2005

- 3. The Viking VenturePrincess Guinevere has ordered an expensive, stylish table from Norway and Arthur has to go and collect it for her. As usual he visits his trusted friend Merlin for advice, and Merlin ends up going on the expedition. However they have to keep it a secret that the King is leaving in case anybody attempts to take over the throne during his absence. Before they even get a chance to leave the word is out, and Arthur runs into his Knights, who join him on his quest. Merlin advises him to keep the fact that he's only getting a table for Guinevere a secret and Arthur tells them that he going to fight some Vikings. Unfortunately for them, this becomes true and they run into other trouble, including Lemmings, Trolls and a 'deadly' Norwegian band.7CC30minApr 25, 2005
- 4. The Surprise QuestArthur's loyal magician, Merlin, has discovered a potion which makes the person you give it to fall head-over-heals in love with you. Arthur plans to catapult the potion at Guinevere so she'll finally marry him, but he accidentally hits her chaperon, Petal. He asks Merlin for an antidote, but is told that a few special ingredients are needed, a feather from the confused back wards flying owl and a single hair from the maine of the invisible unicorn, so Arthur sets out to find these whilst trying to avoid Petal who now wants to marry the King.7CC30minMay 9, 2005
- 5. The Labyrinth Of Lost SoulsAfter escaping from Robin Hood and his merry gang, King Arthur visits Guinevere so he can take cover from Robin. However she tries to send him on another quest, this time she wants him to turn her slipper into gold. Arthur asks Merlin to give him some powers to turn the slipper into gold, however a problem arises when he scratches his rear-end and turns it into gold. So Merlin says it would be 'easier' to visit the Fountain Of Oro, a stream of gold, located in the Labyrinth Of Lost Souls. So our brave King sets on his journey with Merlin and Splag at his side, as they face many obsticles that get in their way inside the Labyrinth.7CC30minMay 16, 2005
