Oma is a short documentary with / about Freifrau Erna von Hodenberg. Mrs. Erna is 72 years old and has been living in her 4 room apartment in Karlsruhe for a few years. She is a very active woman and despite her illnesses, she sustains her daily life well. Nevertheless, there is a problem in her life. Mrs. Erna grew up with 23 siblings at the North Sea and then she moved to Karlsruhe with her husband. She is a very communicative woman. But after the dead of her husband (who had no children) and her dogs, she felt very alone and lonely. This is why she decides to move into a residential community (assisted living) so that she can have more contact with other people and flee from her loneliness.
