The Last Light
In Phitsanulok, the stories of three seniors and their families unfold, highlighting the hardships and neglect facing the vulnerable aging population. Hia Tong, owner of a photo shop, is a hopeful person, wanting to believe the kind voice on the other end of a phone line. Teacher Sophi has just retired from government service and, with her descendants off chasing opportunities in Bangkok, is left alone at home with her distrust faced with a world evolving in ways she doesn't recognise. Elderly Mrs. Bang-orn is left frail in a body she can no longer control following a stroke. She waits for her day to leave this world while machines keep her here.
